District Judge Chris Lethem – is a former college lecturer and solicitor who was called to the Bench in 1998 and now sits principally at the Tunbridge Wells County Court. He regularly tries possession and injunction cases. He will be providing an insight into recent case decisions on costs, injunctions under Section 222 of the Local Government Act, repairing obligations under Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act and more. He will also be sharing thoughts from the Bench on the Rent Arrears Protocol and Malcolm.
Catherine Rowlands– is a barrister at St Ive’s Chambers in Birmingham where she concentrates on housing law work for local authorities and RSLs. She has been involved in recent high-profile cases for Birmingham CC and Sandwell Metropolitan BC. She will discuss and put into context recent case law developments in relation to public law, homelessness and tolerated trespassers.
Tim Crook – of Housing Law Services, will chair the meeting.
