SHLA

'Housing fraud: risks and remedies'

previous meeting

21/04/2016 06:30pm-08:00pm
Devonshires, 30 Finsbury Circus, London EC2M 7DT

In 2015, The European Institute for Combating Corruption and Fraud reported a worrying increase in detected right to buy fraud in England and a continuing and significant loss to the public purse because of right to buy and other social housing fraud, such as unlawful subletting.

At our 21st April members' meeting, Katrina Robinson MBE, Head of Legal Services at Viridian Housing and Chair of the Tenancy Fraud Forum, will consider the risk that fraud continues to pose to social housing providers. She will cover the practical steps that providers can take to identify tenancy fraud, to mitigate the risks and the legal remedies - prosecution, repossession and financial recovery – available to tackle them.

After Katrina's presentation (1 hour) there will be a Questions & Answers session (30 minutes) and, for those who fill in our feedback questionnaire, a chance to win free entry to our next members’ meeting.
