Stathis Kosteletos
Stathis has extensive advocacy, drafting and advisory experience in property and social housing law having worked initially as a county court advocate and then in-house within the social housing team of a top 50 law firm.
Stathis has acted for a wide variety of social landlords assisting with various housing management issues including disrepair claims, possession matters (rent arrears, ASB and failed succession) and injunctions, both with and without notice. He is particularly experienced in defending disrepair matters, regularly offering sensible and pragmatic advice alongside robust defences.

Clare Jones
Clare is a Senior Associate at Clarke Willmott and has worked in the social housing sector since her qualification as a solicitor in 2018. She has a breadth of experience in relation to an array of housing management issues, with a particular interest in asset management and disrepair matters.

Louise Murphy
Louise is a Partner and Head of Social Housing & Regeneration at MSB and has developed an in-depth knowledge of Social Housing law throughout her 18 year career.
She has developed MSB’s Housing team into a formidable unit; she is tenacious and achieves outstanding results.

Iain Wightwick
Specialist property lawyer, with particular interest in landlord and tenant, especially social housing.
Iain represents many local authorities, housing associations and other social landlords, limited companies and private individuals, mostly in County and High Court claims and occasionally in the Court of Appeal.
Iain has over thirty years’ experience of social housing conditions/disrepair claims and a proactive, fresh approach to dealing with such litigation. He has successfully redirected thousands of claims toward ADR, away from expensive and wasteful legal disputes. He has extensive experience of the challenges which the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 has caused landlords .
Iain is the author of “A Practical Guide to Responding to Housing Disrepair and Unfitness Claims” (1st edition 2021) and “A Practical Guide to Antisocial Behaviour Injunctions (2nd edition 2023), published by Law Brief Publishing and available from them, from Wildy & Sons and on Amazon
He trains teams, lectures and provides seminars on property related issues to a wide variety of audiences upon invitation.

Simon Allen
Simon is a Chartered Legal Executive and CILEX Fellow, admitted in 2009, with extensive experience acting for paying parties in Housing Disrepair costs matters.
He is the Head of Department – Housing Disrepair Paying Party at MRN, where he oversees the day-to-day management of a specialist team representing over 100 social housing landlords. Simon ensures Housing Disrepair cases are handled efficiently from inception through to conclusion, maintaining high standards of service and technical accuracy throughout. He also delivers tailored training to clients and colleagues, with a particular focus on Housing Disrepair costs law and effective case management.
Prior to joining MRN, Simon spent over 14 years at Kennedys Law LLP, where he was Head of the Costs Department. During this time, he played a key role in developing and strengthening Housing Disrepair client relationships and expanding specialist team capabilities.
Simon specialises exclusively in Housing Disrepair costs and acts for paying parties. His work includes advising on Bills of Costs, setting reserves, drafting Points of Dispute, reviewing Points of Reply, advising on strategy, and conducting negotiations. He has significant experience in costs budgeting, including preparing Precedent T documentation, undertaking Budget Discussion Reports, and attending Costs and Case Management Conferences.
He is known for his strong commercial approach, attention to detail, and ability to identify key issues in Housing Disrepair claims, ensuring robust challenges to receiving parties’ Bills of Costs. Simon is also committed to delivering excellent client service, providing clear, concise, and pragmatic advice tailored to individual client needs.
A key professional achievement includes successfully developing Housing Disrepair client relationships, contributing to the growth and establishment of dedicated specialist teams.

Matthew Lake
Matthew has spent 20 years embedded in the sector, working alongside many of the country’s largest social landlords. His strong belief in the value of social housing and its contribution to society fuels his desire to be a national voice advocating for positive change.

Dambu Tenner
Dambu is a litigator who has specialised in housing management since qualification. She initially worked in London before going inhouse for a local authority in 2016. In 2020, she joined Abri Group Limited (then Radian) as a Housing Solicitor. Dambu advises on all aspects of housing management, including anti-social behaviour, disrepair and general housing advice, including successions. She has an interest in the Equality Act 2010 and the role it plays in housing law.

Imran Mustak
Imran works as an In-house solicitor and legal manager at L&Q, a prominent Housing Association managing over 100,000 homes across the UK. Imran advises on all aspects of complex housing management and disrepair matters.

Iris Ferber KC
Iris Ferber KC is a Housing and Employment Silk with 20 years’ experience in Social Housing litigation. Her particular interest lies in disputes involving tenants with disabilities, and issues of capacity and the Equality Act – where she can deploy her extensive experience of Employment Tribunal discrimination claims.

Katrina Robinson MBE
Katrina specialises in advising on a range of housing management matters including tenancy fraud, anti-social behaviour, disrepair, and access. Highly respected within the industry, Katrina has held a number of influential roles, including founding and chairing the Tenancy Fraud Forum, founding the Disrepair Focus Group, and was the Chair of the Law Society’s LGBT+ Division and the Independent Adjudicator for Grenfell. In 2016 she was honoured with the MBE to services to Social Housing.

Elizabeth England
Elizabeth is a member of the Property Team at Five Paper and a specialist in social housing and landlord & tenant law, ranked in both Chambers UK Bar and Legal 500 as a leading social housing barrister.
Elizabeth is sought after for her expertise in tenancy fraud and anti-social behaviour, disrepair claims, tenancies and allocation, homelessness, security of tenure, possession, and has a foundational knowledge of human rights and equality which pervade this area of law.
Elizabeth is known for the depth of her legal knowledge together with a high level of advocacy skill.
As the Co-Chair of the Social Housing Law Association, Elizabeth is advancing the interests of her clients, bringing their shared challenges before the courts and advancing them through other political routes. In 2023, she presented the difficulties of pre-action conduct in disrepair claims to the Court of Appeal in Churchill v Merthyr Tydfil CBC [2023] EWCA Civ 1416, and has responded on behalf of members to the government consultation on abolishing s.21 Notices and no-fault evictions. She has assisted in the response to the government consultation on committal proceedings on behalf of SHLA members together with other members of the committee.
