It has been another successful year for the SHLA and we continue to appreciate your support.
The year culminated in our annual conference where attendees were able to hear from a broad variety of experienced speakers on topics relevant to our membership. On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank again all of our speakers who took the time to deliver their interesting and informative talks. I would also like the thank all those who attended and supported the conference. A final thank you to CJAM who organised and ran the conference with many of our membership and speakers being assisted by them before and during the event.
I am also delighted to continue as Chair of SHLA for another year. I send my congratulations to Elizabeth England who will be vice-Chair of the organisation for the next twelve months. We very much look forward to working together on behalf of the SHLA and its Committee. SHLA members will have seen the recent election information and we encourage those that are eligible to stand for the Committee.
Thank you to the entire Committee for their work and efforts over the last twelve months. I would like to particularly mention Helen Tucker who steps down from the Committee from the end of December. Helen has been a dedicated member and her contribution had been invaluable. She will be missed but we wish her all the best for the future including for her recent appointment as a Deputy District Judge.
